I like taking pictures of food I cook/eat. I sometimes draw, paint and craft things for people I love. I live with a man who just so happens to be the love of my life, so it's pretty convenient.
My current priorities are to be healthy, save money for a bigger home and get back to creating things.

Hand-Painted Ron Swanson Birthday Card
Back in stock here.
Just one for now, but will paint more.
Homemade Spicy Tuna Bowl
Tuna sashimi (cubed), sriracha, low-cal mayo (only 30cal per tbsp), avocado, brown rice, green onion
Would’ve been even better if I’d drizzled some soy sauce all over, but I spared myself the sodium. (Did you know that low-sodium soy sauce still has a lot of sodium? -___-) Either way, this was delicious. Not gonna lie though, spicy tuna doesn’t taste the same with brown rice as it does with white rice. Brown rice has too much texture and it kinda messes with the melt-in-your-mouth effect that fresh, raw fish provides. Regardless, a healthier alternative.
Wannabe Chipotle
Shrimp, brown rice, red+yellow+green peppers, guacamole (100-cal pack), Lucille’s BBQ sauce, black pepper, shredded cheese
While laying in bed, wondering what to make for dinner, I came upon my friend’s Instagram photo of her Chipotle bowl. So I put together some items I had at home and came up with my healthy version. Dee-licious.
Approximately 400 cal.
Pesto Chicken Sandwich
Sourdough bread, basil pesto, Sargento sliced pepper jack cheese, chicken breast, Italian style bread crumbs, avocado, garlic powder, eggs (beaten for chicken to dip, then bread)
Success ♥
And there’s chicken leftover for lunch tomorrow :) Happy.
Now, time to paint things with Louie season two. I would make sandwiches for him until my dying day.
BBQ Shrimp Salad
Shrimp, baby corn, avocado, organic spring mix, drops of bruschetta vinaigrette, sweet & spicy BBQ sauce (for cooking shrimp & baby corn)
Perfect almost-summer salad.
Went on a 2.1mi walk/jog this morning. Not impressive, but a start is a start! Haven’t jogged in months, so I’m easing back into it. Let’s keep each other motivated!
Tortilla Artisan Pizzas
Jalapeno & cilantro tortillas, traditional marinara, Ciliegine Mozzarella (pulled apart into pieces), grilled chicken, onion, red & yellow peppers, baby spinach leaves
Really quick & easy.
Place all of the ingredients on top of tortillas then bake for 6-8 minutes at 350°, or until tortillas start to brown. Note that these will be flimsy because of the amount of toppings. We made do by cutting them into smaller pieces and folding the slices. For a sturdier pizza, use less toppings and sauce :)
Every year, my friends at LOUD& OBNOXIOUS and Glad Rags Ink host a very legitimate beer pong tournament in March called the Natty Classic. And every year (with the exception of the 1st year when they used blocks of wood), they commission me to make the trophy. This was the official championship trophy for the 4th Annual Natty Classic, which took place this past Saturday in Pomona.
The inspiration, if not yet obvious, was the Stanley Cup.
My boyfriend had the idea of using cake pans to create the tiers, which helped me illustrate the blueprint in my head. After quite a bit of hunting, I found the top cup/bowl piece at a Goodwill store in Fullerton, THANK GOODNESS. That was the toughest part. The rest came together organically. Boyfriend helped me chrome the metal pieces with Ironlak Reload chrome spray paint. I stained the wood pieces with Minwax Wood Finish (dark walnut 2716) and coated them with Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish. Many harmful vapors were consumed. When all the pieces were ready to go, we meticulously drilled & screwed & contact cement’d everything together. There were also load-bearing wooden pieces secured inside each metal piece!
In a way, this project took a lot of time/effort, but it also didn’t. Once we figured out each following step, it all went very smoothly. For instance, it was REALLY tricky figuring out the best way to secure the cup to the top, as it was the heaviest piece. The manly man eventually came up with the best idea using machine screws, and it worked out perfectly. Although I’d like to take credit for the finished product, I’m indebted to my boyfriend for all of the help he gave me. I definitely would not have had the vinyl cutouts without him.
The trophy received a great response from my friends. For that, I was VERY relieved and very much excited. I still say that nothing feels more satisfying and spiritually fulfilling than creating something that has never existed before. Thanks for reading :) Now go make something!
Bacon, Lettuce & Swiss on Whole Wheat
This was my Christmas gift to a friend who always asks me to make him a sandwich to prove that I’m a woman. Made entirely out of felt & wrapped in sandwich bag. I made sure to put bacon in it since he’s vegan.
